About

About The Chest Mount

The Chest Mount is an independent channel that publishes police body-worn camera footage obtained through public-records requests and official releases. The name comes from where most bodycams sit: on the officer's chest.

We think the full recording is the best way to understand a police encounter. A ten-second clip shows the moment things went wrong. A full case file shows the minutes before it: the conversation, the warnings, the choices on both sides. That's what we publish.

How we work

  • Public records only. Footage comes from records requests and official agency releases.
  • Context preserved. We trim for length and add captions, but we don't edit to change what happened.
  • Presumption of innocence. An arrest is not a conviction, and we say so on every video.
  • Privacy. We respect agency redactions and never publish private information about the people shown.
  • Independent. We're not affiliated with, paid by or speaking for any police department or government agency.

Where to watch
