Send us an incident
Seen a news story about a police encounter that deserves a full look? Send us the article. If we publish the footage, we'll credit you, if you want that.
- We review it
We read the article and check that the incident is real, public and a good fit for an educational case file.
- We request the footage
We file a public-records request for the bodycam video with the agency involved. This can take weeks or months.
- We edit and publish
If the records come through, we edit for length and context and publish the full case file.
- You get credit
If you opted in, your display name or handle appears as "Case suggested by" on the video page and on the credits wall.
What makes a good case
- A published news article or official press release
- A U.S. police or sheriff's agency involved
- An incident that teaches something about procedure, rights or de-escalation
- Usually at least a few weeks old, since records requests take time
What we won't do
We don't publish private information, take requests to target a person, or post footage of minors, victims or medical emergencies for shock value. Submitting a case doesn't guarantee it will be published.
